The Carmichael Inn, an 1810 two-story log structure, recently re-opened in Loudon as a restaurant. The adjoining historic Orme/Wilson Building has also been renovated into the Wharf Street Coffeehouse.
Dollywood's newest thrill ride, Mystery Mine, is a steel roller coaster themed around an abandoned coalmine.

Shoot'm up at Possum Trot - Dress up in your cowboy clothes and shoot with period guns in the beautiful mountains of Scott County. Stay in fully-furnished cabins, whet your whistle at the Possum Breath saloon or enjoy some grub at the Bloated Possum Chow Hall. Through Sept. 3 - Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales™ - All summer long visitors can meet characters, hear mountain music and learn about the wildlife and plant life of the Smoky Mountains on the streets of Gatlinburg.
Through Sept. 7 - Dept. of Energy Facilities Public Bus Tour - Explore the original Manhattan Project sites around Oak Ridge and learn the history behind the world's first atomic weapon which helped to end WWII.
July 1-4 - Patriot Festival brings fabulous concerts and stunning fireworks to Pigeon Forge in honor of Independence Day.
July 3 - 4th of July Midnight Parade, Presented by Red Baron Pizza - The 32nd annual Gatlinburg showcase is the "First July Fourth Parade in the Nation!" Parade starts at 12:00 a.m. on July 4th.
July 4 - 25th Anniversary of World's Fair Park - Knoxville will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1982 World's Fair with an international festival featuring food, entertainment and an exhibit of memorabilia.
July 4 - River Raft Regatta and Fireworks Show - Enjoy a fun, unmanned, floatable object race for the whole family then mark our nation's "Independence Day" in Gatlinburg with a magnificent fireworks show.

July 24 - Thomas & Friends Live! on Stage in "Thomas Saves the Day" - A new live theatrical production based on the adventures of the beloved No. 1 engine, Thomas the Tank Engine.
Aug. 3-5 - The Battle of Tazewell re-enactment on the England Family Plantation, the actual battlefield in Tazewell.
Aug. 9-12 - Masters Championship Rowing Regatta - Rowers from across the globe will gather in Oak Ridge to compete for the Masters title.
Aug. 10-12 - StringTime features some of the country's finest bluegrass musicians paying tribute to the music of the Smoky Mountains with free concerts in Pigeon Forge.
Aug. 11 - The Diner Hot Nights, Cool Cars Cruise In - Trophies awarded for Classic Truck, Mini Truck, Classic Car, Vette, Sports Car, Classic Original, Antique, Muscle Car, Sport Compact, Late Model & Bike.
August 17-18 - Gatlinburg's MountainFest & Old Timer's Day - Enjoy two fun-filled days of bluegrass and genuine mountain music along with crafters and demonstrations.
Aug. 23-25 - Bluegrass in the Smokies at Riverside Campground - Enjoy bluegrass in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains at Riverside Campground and Resort in Sevierville.
Sept. 2 - Boomsday - Knoxville's nationally renowned Boomsday event features live music, festivities, and the largest Labor Day weekend fireworks show in the United States.
Sept. 7-9 - Walk in the footsteps of brave Civil War soldiers in the Wilderness Road Campaign: Battle for the Cumberland Gap at the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum living history encampment.
